A Christmas Filled Week

31 Dec

Two weekends ago we traveled north to my in laws for Christmas round one. We had three separate celebrations within 36 hrs, it was a whirlwind but a great time.

On Sunday, Phil whipped up his famous omelets for the group, we headed off to Bronners for our annual trip.

The place was crazy packed, but we managed to find some new additions to our holiday decor.

Christmas overload!

On Monday I stuck to my plan and hit the gym for some cardio and yoga class (it was the last day for the holiday soundtrack, which is so good). It was difficult to get there, but I was so glad I went.

The rest of the week was chalked full of holiday celebrations. Tuesday night included a mani/pedi and girls night at Cork.

What is it about spend quality time with your girl friends that makes everything better? I feel very fortunate to have quality ladies to surround myself with. Since our return from Europe in October, outings have been MIA due to the three deaths in the family I’ve been out of town and down in the dumps. A few bottles of wine + a table full of friends was just what this girl needed.

Wednesday evening was a joint birthday celebration for two of our best friends; John and Cathy. We went to a hibachi grill for a yummy dinner and then back to their house.

Their little boy is our godson, so we had a mini Christmas.

We got the little one some holiday flicks and his first set of P;ay-dough. All of the adults started playing, it was quite funny to see everyone playing. Man we had a great time!

The following night we had our Christmas celebration. Every year we head out to dinner and then spend time just the two of us celebrating including some prizes. Our big gift is being made and arriving in mid-January. I can’t wait!!!

Friday morning we hit the road heading to my home town for our family Christmas. It was someone’s first Christmas!! What a wonderful few days to say the least.

Despite my lack luster excitement for the holidays this year after so much loss last month, the Christmas celebrations have really turned my mood around. It feels so good to laugh, spend time and celebrate with the ones you love.
