Failure to Plan is Planning to Fail

26 Mar

I’m an organizational junkie. I’m neat. I’m organized. And I can multi-task with the best if them.

One of my favorite ways to get organizzed is to create lists. My iPhone has come in quite handy and I’ve been cool with the switch from paper to electronic. (I also love that my to-do list stays with me at all times and I don’t have to remember to grab that little slip of paper before walking out the door.)

The calendar on the other hand has not been to my liking. I am unable to get the same visual as I do with a planner and it synchs funny with my computer. Over it.

Then it hit me, it’s March and I haven’t purchased my annual planner?! The horror.

I decided to purchase another cute one from Mrs. Kate Spade, but maybe she went electronic because there were none to be found. Next best option? Run to CVS on your lunch break and pick up this winner.

Don’t be jelly, you can get your own for the low price of $3.99. Score!

Every year around this time I start to get excited, really, really excited. I think about all the fun that is to come over the next few month as the weather warms up; parties, vacations, weddings, races. My favorite thing to do is write in all of my events, birthdays and holidays, and plan out the weekends I have free with things I want to do (see my 30 before 30 list).

After I finish, I run home to show Phil and he vetoes about half reminding me we now have a house which comes with some maintenance/ upkeep, and we have our summer plan!!!

I love planning, it give me a sense of happiness that I am working towards the things I want in life. And, when facing a tough day at work, it’s always nice to have something to look forward to (read between the lines. I play mindgames with myself).

What do you use to stay organized? Are you a planner or do you like to keep your options open?

Any exciting summer plans?
