Lunching with Cindy Crawford

14 Sep

Yesterday I had an amazing opportunity with Inforum to have lunch with Cindy Crawford. I know, too cool.

Inforum is a great organization with a chapter in Michigan that promotes women in business. I am just starting to integrate into this group, so when I saw the agenda for an afternoon with Cindy Crawford, I signed right up.

The event was held at the Troy Marriott and was decorated beautifully. We all enjoyed lunch and the the show began.

Rhonda Walker was the host of the interview who is a huge power house in the Detroit area as a correspondent on the local news. She introduced Cindy who spoke for about 30 minutes on the power of your personal brand.

Cindy talked about finding your own path, looking for opportunities even in the challenges and to stay true to yourself. She had some powerful messages to share about being a woman who ‘does it all’.

One of the topics that was particularly interesting was on being a working woman vs. not working. Cindy shared her thoughts on finding a way to express yourself and an outlet to do so – work should be fulfilling.

But she also stressed that she doesn’t feel like we can do it all, at least not all at once. And that does not mean that we are failing. We can’t do it all at once, we aren’t perfect because life isn’t perfect. The sooner we realize this and accept it, we will be stronger.

I am so glad I was able to attend this event with strong women who are just like me; trying to balance it all. And make it look good. 😉

do you think we can have it all at once?

Are you part of any groups or organizations?
